Dec '02 The CGAL developers meeting decided the following changes of supported compilers for the next CGAL release: We drop support for Visual C++ 6.x, for gcc-2.95.2 (note that we keep supporting g++-2.95.3), and for all versions of Kai C++. In addition, we aim for supporting MipsPRO with the n32 and n64 ABI.

Jun '01 Monique Teillaud and Sylvain Pion have improved the 3D triangulation classes to provide a new hierarchical 3D Delaunay Triangulation for increased overall efficiency and to provide better handling of degeneracies in the removal of vertices from 3D Delaunay triangulations. These improvements will be available with the next release.
Mar '01 A non-reference-counted homogeneous kernel has been implemented and tested and will be available with the next release.

Feb '01 The licensing terms for the LEDA library have changed. This does not affect the licensing terms for CGAL as the two are independent. Though parts of CGAL-2.2 depend on LEDA (e.g., for the window stream), we plan to remove these dependencies for the next release in cooperation with Algorithmic Solutions.
